Drug Seizure at a RIDE in Quinte West

(Quinte West, ON) - On the 18th of August, 2017 at 11:30pm officers with the Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were conducting a RIDE Program on the west bound off ramp at Highway 401 and Highway 33 in Quinte West.

The officers stopped a small sedan and located cocaine within the vehicle. The female driver and male passenger were arrested at scene. The vehicle was searched by the OPP Canine Unit and located within the vehicle was; an ounce of suspected cocaine, 40 pounds of marihuana and over a $1000 in cash.

The female driver identified as Brittany CLENIGHAN a 22 year old woman from Petawawa. Clenighan is charged with;

·        Possession of Marihuana

·        Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking

·        Possession of Cocaine

·        Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking

·        Possession of Property obtained by Crime

·        Fail to Comply with a Recognizance of Bail

·        Fail to Comply with a Probation Order

The male passenger identified as Alfredo DIX a 29 year old man from the Scarborough area. Dix was charged with;

·        Possession of Marihuana

·        Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking

·        Possession of Cocaine

·        Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking

·        Possession of Property obtained by crime.

The accused were held at Napanee detachment and had a Bail Hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on Saturday August 19th, 2017.
