OPP looking for 401 wrong way driver

(Dec 6 2017 - Leeds, Ontario) -   Members of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation into a wrong way driver on Highway 401.

On December 1, 2017 at about 5:55 A.M. Ontario Provincial Police officers in Leeds County were advised by numerous citizens of a transport truck that was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes east of Mallorytown. The truck, which was caught on dashcam footage, is described as being gray and pulling a blue sea container style trailer andwas reported to have been accelerating in the westbound lanes with its hazard lights on.

Investigation revealed that the transport travelled through the median in between the east and westbound service centres causing damage to the truck. A silver plastic bumper was located from a Volvo truck.

There were no reported injuries or other collisions as a result of this incident.
